Our Story

Manor Montessori School was founded by Dana Stewart and Janet Miklas. With their mutual passion for the Montessori approach, they built a school where young minds could be cultivated and inspired. The school opened, operating in Manor Rd church, in the fall of 1994 with one Casa class of 12 students.

30 years later, Manor Montessori school now has two campuses, offering programming for students 18 months to Grade 4. Through dedication, perseverance and a passion for education, the school has become an esteemed part of the North Toronto community.

Janet Miklas, co-founder of Manor Montessori, passed away in 2019 and is deeply missed. Janet was enormously proud of the creation of the school in 1994, its teachers, its commitment to quality education, and of the children attending. Her vision for Manor Montessori continues into the future, as Dana Stewart leads the school with the same important values it was founded upon.
